Is Let It Snow Worth Watching?

Let it Snow follows the stories of three groups of friends as they navigate the trials and tribulations of teenage love. It appears that Love Actually heavily inspired the narrative format, as the disparate story lines are told in an intertwining narrative that ends with all characters involved meeting up for a party at the local diner during the movie’s climax. I found Isabela Merced and Shameik Moore’s storyline the most compelling of the three. It focused on more than just teenage love and delved deeper into considerations of what teenagers with sick parents have to grapple with. The other two story lines are generic angsty teenage dramas. One Involves a boy getting up the courage to tell his best friend his feelings and another dealing with a girl trying to rekindle a relationship while contending with her selfish friend. While I did not enjoy all of the story lines, they did nail the feeling of teenage love in all of its awkward angsty horror and glory. If I was younger maybe I would have related to this movie more, but as it sits I would only recommend this movie to those who are fans of John Green novels.
