Is Fast & Furious Spy Racers Worth Watching?

Fast & Furious Spy Racers is a children’s cartoon based in the Fast & Furious Universe (FFU). While franchise lead Dominic Torreto appears briefly, the show does not incorporate any other FFU cast. Even as a fan of the franchise, I did not expect much from this series, and it still managed to disappoint. The premise of the cartoon was generic enough that the association with the FFU seemed like an afterthought. They have racing, infiltration of criminal gangs, and bass-heavy music. The problem is that all of it has been watered down, as it is directed towards kids. Because of this, everything makes even less sense than it already does in the main franchise, believe it or not. The crew they created as the main cast drive some cars that make absolutely no sense for racing; for example, one teen drives a monster truck, and another built an electric car capable of keeping up with million-dollar cars. However, this is a kid’s show, and I cannot really fault the creative team for this direction, as I am clearly not the target audience. If you are an adult, this show is a hard pass, even for fans of the FFU.
