Is 6 Underground Worth Watching?

6 Underground is Michael Bay distilled to his purest sense and is entirely form over substance. This movie is like Michael Bay watched a parody Michael Bay youtube video and went with it. Within the first twenty minutes of this movie are many explosions, excessive slow motion, and a non-stop car chase that destroy historic parts of Rome.  The plot of this movie is not revealed until the twenty-eighth minute mark, nearly one-fourth of the movie in, and is only explained through heavy exposition by Ryan Reynolds. The plot is only there to service the two other major action sequences. While they do go on too long, and I honestly think this movie could have been shortened by about twenty minutes, Michael Bay does know how to make fun action sequences. The infiltration of the Hong Kong tower in the middle of the movie was by far my favorite part, and it was genuinely fun to watch. For how long this movie was, it felt crowded and seemed like it would have worked better as a series that allowed its characters to breath. Instead it is just 70% action and 30% plot and character development.
