Is WandaVision Worth Watching?
WandaVision was a show I was primed to dislike. I am not a fan of Marvel now adding television series as required watching to follow along with the already enormous 23 movie MCU. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked WandaVision. Each episode takes place in a different era, which initially felt like a gimmick, but it paid off with valuable character development. While I did not care for the first three episodes, the back 6 episodes really pulled me into the story as Wanda’s fantasy world begins to crack. Prior to WandaVision, I was not a fan of the MCU portrayal of Wanda or Vision, but again to my surprise, this show actually made me care about the characters and their relationship, which wasn’t explained in the movie. The story was an interesting take on how a superhero would address the grief of a loved one. And I was very excited to see Randall Park back and in a more prominent role in the MCU. If you are a fan of the MCU, you will enjoy this and excepting the first three episodes, this feels like a new movie in the MCU.
Rating: B- If you are a fan of the MCU you will most likely enjoy WandaVision, however, this is not the place to start for new fans nor will it convert anyone who already dislikes the MCU
